The Centre for Arts & Music is a unique program operated by The Rock and Roll Society of Edmonton.
With a focus on youth at risk in our community, CAM reaches out to children who would otherwise have few opportunities to participate in the arts. Our goal is to reach them during critical after school hours through music.
At CAM, children learn how to write songs, play instruments and perform together on stage. In the

CAM Needs Your Help
CAM is short on funding and needs your help to continue operating until the end of the current 2013 school year. To help, these fine gentlement will shave their heads when they reach their goal of $30K by February 23, 2013. currently working with children at The Yellowhead Youth Centre, Rite Trax alternative school, St.Alphonsus School and Catholic Social Services. Many children enrolled in the program are working towards earning credits towards graduating so it`s even more critical that we continue supporting them.
Studies show that children who are exposed to the arts do better in school and other areas of life. We see this first hand every day and all agencies confirm the positive impact the program is having in the lives of these children. In fact, one agency advised that serious incidents at their centre dropped from several per month to zero as a result of their students engagement in CAM.
Sponsorship and donations are vital to the success of this program as most of the youth that participate in CAM do not have the financial means to participate. We appreciate all donations, big or small. All funds provided are exclusively directed to operating The Centre for Art and Music. Financial statements are audited by Pennock, Acheson, Nielson, Devany and available for viewing. |
