Allison Kimzey, President

Allison is our current President but she’s also held the positions of Secretary and Director. She was one of the original volunteers at the very first event in 2009 prior to the creation of the Rock and Roll Society. She proudly volunteered at every Rockfest, event after joining the Board in Sept of 2017.  

One of her favorite local bands is Boogie Patrol and The Mad Dog’s Experience. She finds it hard to choose the best rock star/s of all time,  because she’s “not a person that idolizes, but has always enjoyed good old rock and roll”. Therefore her choices for top bands are the Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Trooper, Heart, Cheap Trick, and REO Speedwagon.

Allison became a single mother in 2000 with two young children and relied on community support in some areas so that her kids where able to participate in sports and were cared for after school until she was able to get home from work. She always promised herself that she would find a way to give back. Her kids took guitar lessons from Graham Calder so when the Rock and Roll Society started in 2010 (still a single mom but her kids where then 13 & 17) it was a perfect opportunity to give back to the community with a wonderful program that Allison thought was so beneficial to the community.  Her youngest often volunteered with her as well. 

She is a self-described rule follower, but admits she likes to bend the rules as far as possible without completely breaking them.
