Audrey Morton, Secretary
Audrey has been a Board member since 2020. She recently became the Secretary in January of 2023.
She volunteered at most RRSE events over the last 10 years and has been a member of her condo board for approximately 10 years (positions of secretary and vice president).
Audrey has over 20 years of experience working with at-risk youth, youth in care and youth involved with the criminal justice system. She’s been involved with the Community Mental Health Action Plan in Edmonton for approximately 4 years and is a Co-founder of the Edmonton District Mental Health Committee for Community Corrections.
Her favourite local musicians include: Slow Walking Walter, Alter Ego, Hailey Benedict (country artist), Ceileigh Cardinal, Martin Kerr, Rural Alberta Advantage, and of course, Chronic Rock! And many more really...
She can’t list one favourite rock star of all time (she says there are way too many). A few would be Queen, the Rolling Stones, Elton John, CCR, Skid Row, Bon Jovi, and (she says “don't judge me”) Nickelback.
When asked how she used to be a badass, Audrey answers: “I used to drag race a 1969 Chevrolet Malibu in high school. My dad still has the car!”
“I have always had a passion for music and the arts. My fondest memories are of the many road trips with my family when we would blast the music and sing or play name that tune. I worked with youth for years and know the value of programs like CAM. I have volunteered for the RRSE for 10 years and have watched the program and students grow so much. I am happy helping contribute to the program's success and longevity.”
